Prime Dorper Lamb branded products on the menu

QUALITY Prime Dorper Lamb branded products are  now on the menu for North Coast consumers.

The brand development initiation from the Dorper Sheep Society of Australia Inc. aims to facilitate the connection from paddock to plate, ensuring integrity and traceability of its products.

Warren and Marina Wiggins, Boorabee Dorpers, Bexhill near Lismore, have been breeding Dorpers for six years with a total of 300 stud and commercial Dorper sheep.

They chose to get into the breed because of the toughness of the animals and quality meat they produce. Mr Wiggins said they are low maintenance and don’t require shearing which is what they want.

The Wiggins became Prime Lamb Dorper co-branders six months ago.

Co-branders of the Prime Lamb Dorper brand are Meat Standards Australia accredited producers and also members of the Dorper Sheep Society of Australia. They are supplied with labels and advertising material to help market and promote Dorper branded lamb.

Mr Wiggins said they came on board to do their bit for the Dorper breed while selling their own lamb products.

“The brand and marketing gets people to taste and buy quality meat, learning about the Dorper breed,” he said.
