Victorian based stud Deepdale Dorpers, Merrinee, were the team to beat in the Dorper Sheep society of Australia National Show ring in Dubbo, claiming Dorper supreme exhibit.
The stud were also awarded grand champion Dorper ewe and ram under the eyes of judge David Curtis, Bellevue Dorper stud, Millmerran, Queensland.
Senior champion Dorper ram, DDD 230046, rose through the ranks of the two tooth class to claim the coveted supreme sash.
The 17-month old son of Burrawang Dorpers 172409 Rodeo and out of Burrawang Dorpers 181449 weighed 107kg.
Mr Curtis said it was hard to split the grand champion ram and ewe as they were both magnificent animals.
“It is a pleasure to stand and look at this ram, especially when you can get close up and look across the width of his top-line,” he said.
“I like his overall balance, depth through the body, the way that he stands and strong head.
“He is a picture Dorper that we’re looking for and exactly what we need in the business that we’re involved in.”
