Rankins Springs stud Conapaira Pastoral Company celebrated a full clearance and strong average for the Groat family’s first on-property Dorper and White Suffolk sale on Tuesday.
The stud offered a total of 109 rams and sold 100 per cent of the offering to strong local demand to an overall average of $2207.
In the breakdown, all 59 Dorpers sold to a top of $3100 and an average of $2246 and all 50 White Suffolks sold to a top of $3000 and an average of $2162.
The top-priced Dorper ram was sired by Burrawang Great Mate 170996 and sold to Matt Headrick of Ravenshaw Ag, Goolgowi.
The ram was a May-2023 drop and had an eye muscle depth (EMD) of 37 millimetres along with a fat depth of 7.5mm.
