Highveld stud is the original importer of the White Dorper into Australia. The Stud is owned and managed by South Africans living in Australia. Our first embryos were flushed in South Africa in early 1997. This shipment arrived in Australia in late 1997. From then on, for each year until 2001, Highveld Stud imported many hundreds of White Dorper embryos. New genetics were again imported in 2006 and 2007, to form our popular "Gap Genetics" bloodline. Many of these were sold to other Studs, and so today, most of Australia's leading Studs contain the blood of Highveld bred, or embryo imported, bloodlines.

Highveld Stud established the export trade of fullblood stud animals exported out of Australia to China, Malaysia and the United States of America. To date approx.(0ver)1000 White Dorpers have been exported to China, and many hundreds of embryos to the USA.

Highveld Stud focusses on breeding large framed Dorpers of modern type that stand over plenty of ground.
We are known for the exceptional pigment and excellent shedding ability of our Dorpers.Length and meat capacity are our trade mark.We are proud to watch the White Dorper breed grow and flourish in Australia.
