An extensive embryo transplant program in 2005/06 using Kaya genetics along with our existing foundation flock gave us the genetic variation we needed to develop our accelerated lambing program. All animals are meticulously performance recorded and DNA tested where required. All ewes are lambed in shelters where they can be individually penned if required. Lambs are tagged with EID tags within hours of birth allowing no opportunity for incorrect identification. We do not do crossbreds, upgrades or infusions - we breed Pure thoroughbred Dorpers only. This allows us the time to focus on producing Dorpers that are A! phonetically and genetically. At Dorper Stud Park we also put a lot of emphasis on the breeds maternal traits - fertility, mothering, temperament and milking and especially select for these traits.
